Alice Working the iPad

Published June 11, 2010

I. Love. This.

And I confess that I’ve not felt even REMOTELY interested in an e-reader up to this point. Now I am. You might’ve seen it, but see again. And drool. And answer me this…do you want one?

What Others Have To Say

Uhm. Wow-zers! Yeah… that’s on my wish list. One day maybe.

I am just about to get off the computer to pack my suitcase for home… and what do I see? This post. Sigh… long and large. Yes I had to read it before I go computer-less for two WHOLE days. (That is a session in itself.)

Fortunately, my musing about this post (or unfortunately depending on your thoughts about my rambles.) is much longer then the answer to your question, Mary

YES. I WANT ONE. Are you asking because you want to see if getting me one for my big 2010 birthday is a wise decision? Well of course it is – Ha. Just kidding of course…
I have tried to slow time…Sigh again…, Unfortunately, (using that word twice in one comment is alarming) the big birthday, despite my best efforts it is going to arrive. But obviously I need to stop thinking about myself and just make myself clear… on this whole iPad question.

So let me do that, to make myself clear… Yes I want one and I might be drooling too.

Ok, consider this comment complete. Fini. Done. :)

O.M.G. That was the coolest thing I’ve seen this morning! And heck yes, I want an iPad! I just read this quote from Jodi Meadows (http://jmeadows.livejournal.com/778994.html) about writing the perfect intro, her husband, and an iPad and it cracked me up:

“I bet if I had an iPad, I’d have the four perfect paragraphs right now. I’m going to see if Jeff believes that.”

I’m trying to convince Anthony that the iPad will make me a better mother. We’ll see. =)

Darlyn: I knew we’d be good blog buddies. Because blog buddies like the same cool things.

Dani: Haha! I’m totally gonna try that on my husband (WHO IS GRADUATING FROM CAL POLY TOMORROW). Oh…did I just scream that out loud? Sorry….

Yes, Mary. You did just scream that out loud. My ears are ringing. *shaking finger in ear*

Ok – that was cool. My boys liked it “can we do that again?” I still say iPad is a lame name. One day I will want one, right now I am still in denial… :) Congrats to the Poly grad and his amazing wife for helping him succeed!

First and again, CONGRATS to Peter and YOU! What a big day…a great day…a day to celebrate ACCOMPLISHMENTS and HARD WORK! BRAVO TO THE WEBER clan.

Now on to IPad. Looks like so much fun and too much temptation to play instead of work or write. Also made me want to rush to my childhood copy of Alice and Wonderland and revisit all those marvelous illustrations (not in color) but still so incredibly dear to my heart as is the story (including “Through the Looking Glass”). OFF WITH HER HEAD! LOVE IT!

I say, whatever gets kids (or grown ups) to read is worth drooling over.

    Jeepers!
Naomi was playing with one today at her friend’s house, and I was seriously jealous. I’m still super jealous of people who have i-phones.
I wouldn’t know what to do with one, but it looks fun. :-)

Yeah For Graduating!!! Mary, I know Peter couldn’t have done any of that w/out you. This is a day not only for celebrating his efforts, but the efforts of you and all the kids helping him get there!! In my eyes, every single one of you graduated today, even Korbin! By the way, please tell me he celebrated by peeing on Dexter Lawn in front of thousands of people like him and Jono used to do at Father’s House, that would just make my day! So yeah, like I said, I’m never buying Dani one of those, EVER!!! I’d never see her, and contrary to possible belief, I do like hanging out w/ her every once in a while, I mean, we have 3 kids, do the math!

Hahahahahahaha…Anthony, you’re the best. I don’t know why I hadn’t read this until just now (I somehow missed it)! No, Korbin used the outhouse just like all the other thousands and thousands of guests (score one for parenting). And you might be right about not seeing Dani ever…hmm…but at least there’d be more beer for you so… ;-)

Thank you, everyone, for the Graduation congrats! I cried the whole way through (the day). It felt absolutely perfect–exactly how I’d hoped it would. It’s now really bizarre having him just hang around in the evenings. I keep expecting him to head off to class or spend hours doing some sort of brainy calculations. But no…instead, last night we sat around our fire-pit, under our dancing patio lights, and drank wine (okay, he might’ve had juice). ;-)

And all agreed: Apple does rock!

Well, now that I’m Mz. Independent (oh, you haven’t heard that I have a job in publishing? well…), I think I’ll buy my own iPad, thankyouverymuch, Mr. Indie! =P

Yay for sitting around firepits and drinking juice! I bet Peter is just as happy with all his extra time as you are, Mary. =)
